The President of the Republic decorates 16 athletes and the Portuguese Olympic and Paralympic Committees in the Tribute to National Sports that he is promoting on 27 May, which will be attended by athletes, leaders and technicians of all the different sports activities.
All those decorated will be awarded grades and titles of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
Following are the names of those to be decorated:
Grand Cross – Nelson Évora
Grand Officer – Carlos Lopes (Carlos Manuel Conceição Lopes), Emanuel Silva, Fernando Pimenta, Francis Obikwelu, José Manuel Gentil Quina, Mário Gentil Quina and Vanessa Fernandes
Commander – Francisco Rebelo de Andrade, Hugo Passos, João Alves, Nuno Delgado, Olga Pinto, Paulo Coelho, Rui Costa and Rui Silva
Also awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator will be the Portuguese Olympic Committee and the Portuguese Paralympic Committee.
