Meeting with Ángel Gurría
The President of the Republic visited the OECD headquarters, in Paris, where he met with experts of this Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and addressed its council.
Received by the Secretary General of the Organization, Ángel Gurría, President Cavaco Silva had a private meeting with him, after which he met with OECD experts, during which a discussion was held on current World and Portuguese economic themes.
Later, the President was invited to attend a special meeting of the OECD Council, during which he addressed a speech and exchanged views with the representatives of member countries.
The President of the Republic and the OECD Secretary General then made declarations to the media, after which Ángel Gurría hosted the Portuguese Head of State at a working lunch.
Later, in the residence of the Portuguese Standing Representative with OECD, Ambassador Paulo Viseu Pinheiro, President Cavaco Silva held a meeting with the Portuguese staff members in that international organization.
