Commemorative Ceremony
The President of the Republic presided at the commemoration of Póvoa de Varzim City Day, which was held at a ceremony in the City Hall.
To celebrate the occasion, President Cavaco Silva received from the local Mayor, Dr. José Machado Vieira, the City’s Medal of Honour.
Before this, City Medals had been awarded to Horpozim - Póvoa de Varzim Horticulturalists Association and to the Leões da Lapa Football Club.
The President also presided, in the same city, at the inaugural act of the new facilities of the Póvoa de Varzim Musical Auditorium, and attended a performance of the local music band.
