Army Rapid Reaction Brigade received a visit from the President

The President of the Republic visited the Army

In his first contact with the Army, the President of the Republic visited, today, the Army Rapid Reaction Brigade, in Tancos, where he was shown the activities of that branch of the Armed Forces.

In the company of the Minister of Defence, Dr. Luís Amado, and received by Chief of the Army General Staff, General Luís Valença Pinto, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva assisted to the first official presentation of the Rapid Reaction Brigade and visited a standing exhibition of the equipment and of the capabilities of this unit.

Operational droppings of air cargoes and paratroopers were also part of the presentation of the Brigade to the President of the Republic.

At the end of the visit two battalions of the Brigade which are being readied for missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan were introduced to the President.
