Prize award in Coimbra
The President of the Republic presided, in Coimbra, at the award ceremony of the 2014 BIAL Prize.
The ceremony was held in the Health Sciences Centre of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Coimbra University, where President Cavaco Silva handed the BIAL Grand Prize for Medicine to a team of researchers headed by Professor Miguel Seabra, who throughout 20 years studied a genetic disease that affects the retina and leads to blindness and its treatment through genetic therapy.
