Remembrance of the disaster in the Porto Ribeira
The President of the Republic attended, in Porto, the inaugural ceremony of the evocative ceremony of the "Ponte das Barcas" disaster, and laid a wreath of flowers during the tribute paid to the dead in the episode occurred 200 years ago in the second French invasion.
A military force consisting of members of the three branches of the armed forces rendered military honours and marched past on parade in front of the President of the Republic.
