Welcome ceremony in Bellevue Palace
Marking the beginning of the State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva were received in a welcome ceremony in Bellevue Palace, by the German President, Horst Köhler, and his wife.
After the presentation of the deputations, the playing of the national anthems of both countries, the review of the armed forces on parade and a greeting by a group of children from a German school, the two Heads of State held a formal meeting, followed by declarations to the media.
