Homage Ceremony
President Cavaco Silva presided at the Ceremony celebrating the 140th anniversary of the birth of Admiral Gago Coutinho and that of the 50th anniversary of his decease, at which he delivered an address.
During the ceremony, which was held in the Lisbon Geographical Society, a commemorative stamp was launched with respect to the event, and the Gago Coutinho 2008 prize was awarded by the President.
At the end of the Session, the President of the Republic opened an Exhibition showing the most significant donations to the Society by Admiral Gago.
