In order to provide up to date information on the activities of the President of the Republic to an ever wider number of users of the new Internet sharing tools, the Portuguese Presidency is now available with channels in You Tube and Sapo Videos, in the Twitter social network and in the Flickr community.
Starting from its official site, the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic is from now on available in two audiovisual sharing communities - You Tube, at http://youtube.com/presidenciarepublica, and Sapo Videos, at http://videos.sapo.pt/presidencia – as well as in the Twitter social network, at http://twitter.com/presidencia, and in Flickr, at http://flickr.com/photos/presidencia, the latter a welcome and photo sharing site.
The development and the ease of access to new technologies have determined a fast growing number of users of these Internet sites, specifically those that, in the world, share Portuguese as their common language.
The topicality, the agenda, the speeches, the messages and other activities of the President of the Republic may from now on be followed up in more disseminating sites, such as videos and photography.
On the occasion when these new Presidential channels were launched, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva addressed a message to all users.
