Portuguese Pavilion in Expo 2008
On the inaugural date of the exhibition, the President of the Republic officially opened the Portuguese Pavilion in the Zaragoza EXPO 2008, which has a central theme “Water and Sustainable Development”.
With the presence of the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Moratinos, and accompanied by the Portuguese Minister for the Environment and Regional Development and Planning, Nunes Correia, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva unveiled a commemorative plaque before visiting the various areas of the pavilion.
Later, before leaving the grounds of the exhibition, President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited, in the enclosure of EXPO 2008, the Spanish and Aragonese Community Pavilions, as well as the thematic pavilion “Puente”, on a bridge built over the Ebro River.
