Meeting with the Jordanian Monarchs
On the first day of their official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva were welcomed in Amman by King Abdullah II of Jordan and Queen Rania.
After the official welcoming ceremony, the two couples held a private meeting in the Royal Palace, at the end of which decorations were exchanged between the two Heads of State. The Jordanian King decorated the President of the Republic with the Grand Collar of the Order of Al Nahda (Order of the Renaissance) and Mrs. Cavaco Silva with the Grand Collar (1st Class) of the same Order. In turn, the President of the Republic decorated the Jordanian Monarch with the Grand Collar of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator and Queen Rania with the Grand Cross of the same Order.
This was followed by a meeting of all the participants of the deputations of both countries and, later, by the ceremony of the signature of the agreements in various fields reached by the two countries.
