Meeting in the Warsaw Presidential Palace

President Cavaco Silva meets with his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski

Commencing his Visit of State to Poland, the President of the Republic held meetings with his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski, after the welcoming ceremonies in the Presidential Palace in Warsaw had been finished.

The two presidential couples had a private meeting which was followed by an exchange of decorations. The Polish President decorated President Aníbal Cavaco Silva with the Grand Cross of the Polish Renaissance, and the Portuguese President decorated his counterpart with the Grand Collar of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.

Later, the two Heads of State held a private meeting, followed by a meeting which involved the deputations of both countries.

At the end of these ceremonies, both Presidents made statements to the media.
