Mrs. Cavaco Silva met with children that visited the Palace of Belém, within the scope of activities organized by the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic, which celebrated the World Children’s Day.
Prize dedicated to Bioethics
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presented Prof. Diego Gracia Guillén, lecturer of the Madrid Complutense University, with the 2011 ETHOS Prize, created by the Bioethics Institute of the Portuguese Catholic University.
The ceremony was held in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon.

New means for donations
Mrs. Cavaco Silva was the guest of honour at the opening session of the 5th Annual Meeting of Social Partners, promoted by Microsoft Portugal, during which the launching took place of the new Online Channel of the Food Bank Against Hunger.
Meeting in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva promoted an Encounter with Mothers of Absent Children – Women who prematurely lost their offspring and who, through community fellowship, contribute today so that other Mothers may better deal with this type of situations. This meeting was held in the Palace of Belém.

Mrs. Cavaco Silva was present, in Restelo Stadium, in Lisbon, at the beatification ceremony of Sister Maria Clara of the Infant Jesus, founder of the congregation of the Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of the Immaculate Conception

Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in São João da Ribeira, Rio Maior, the homage ceremony to poet Ruy Belo.
Conference at the Gulbenkian Foundation
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the opening session of the I National Conference on Rare Diseases, the theme of which was “The patient, research and health policy”, organized by the Portuguese Rare Disease Federation – FEDRA, held within the scope of the European Day of Rare Diseases.
