Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the donation ceremony “One Euro for One Life Campaign” dedicated to the refurbishment of a care clinic for premature babies. The ceremony took place in Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital, in Lisbon.

Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended the Gala Dinner held for the benefit of the Aboim Ascensão Home, which took place in the Vilamoura Casino.
Visit to “Existir”
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva visited, in Loulé, the institution Existir – Association for the Intervention of Retarded and Disabled People.
Awarding prizes
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva presided at the opening ceremony of the Multidiscipline Conference on Pain, during which she awarded the prizes of the children’s drawing competition “I will draw my pain”, and the “2006 Grunenthal Pain Prizes” to two researchers, Prof. Isaura Tavares and Dr. Laurinda Lemos, during which she delivered a speech.
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva was present today, in the Porto City Council Hall, at the launching ceremony of the Municipal Support Services for Voluntary Work, during which she delivered a speech.

Ceremony in the Ismaili Centre
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in Lisbon, the official ceremony of the incorporation of the S. João de Deus Foundation.

Presentation of the Programme in the Alcântara Harbour Building
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in the Alcântara Harbour Building, in Lisbon, the presentation of the social welfare programme “Swatch Perfect World”, that assigns a sum for the refurbishment of a Temporary Welcome Centre for children at risk, known as “Open Sky”.
Exhibition in the Pavilion of Knowledge
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended the exhibition of Mega-Magic Glow Worms, on shoe in the Pavilion of Knowledge, in Lisbon, to initial her mega-glow worm and record a TV spot in support of the Magic Glow Worm Campaign.
Children’s welfare institutions received donations
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva received, in the Palace of Belém, the participants in th 2006 Diplomatic Bazaar, when the receipts obtained from that initiative were awarded to the institutions which work on behalf of children’s welfare.
