APCC Exhibition
Mrs. Cavaco Silva was present, in the Diário de Notícias Gallery, in Lisbon, at the official opening of the exhibition “Support work for all...”, promoted by the Association for the Cultural Protection of Children (APCC).
Presentation of Project
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Colombo Shopping Centre, the showing of the film “The Birth of Christ”, filmed in a special format dedicated to persons with specific needs.
At the invitation of Caritas Portugal, Mrs. Cavaco Silva recorded a “spot” for the “10 Million Stars – A Gesture for Peace” Operation, which intends to promote peace, solidarity and reconciliation around the world.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva addressed a message of support to the "El Rastrillo" Solidarity Fair which was officially opened today. The ceremony was attended by Her Royal Highness Dona Pilar de Borbón and provides aid and support to welcome homes for children and young people.
Opening of Home
Mrs. Cavaco Silva officially opened the new facilities of the Santo António Home, of the Children’s and Aged Friendship Association, of Aldeia da Mata, Crato, where she unveiled a commemorative plaque and delivered a speech.
House Museum
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Father Belo House Museum and the Museum Centre of the Vila do Crato Almshouse.
ABRIGO Forum
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided at the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Forum of ABRIGO – Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Criança (“SHELTER – Portuguese Association for Child Support), which was held in the Joaquim de Almeida Theatre, in Montijo
Visit to the D. Ruy Salema Home
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the D. Ruy Salema Home, which houses the Temporary Shelter Centre for Young People, of the Alcácer do Sal Almshouse.
Gala dinner
Mrs. Cavaco Silva delivered a speech at a gala dinner in favour of the National Programme for Tracing of Breast Cancer “Gala for Hope”, held in the residence of the Ambassador of the United States of America.
Praise to women’s resistance
On the occasion of the Breast Cancer International Month, Mrs. Cavaco Silva paid tribute to the resistance of Portuguese women.
