Opening of the Exhibition
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided at the inaugural ceremony, held in Forum PT, in Lisbon, of the Exhibition “The Other Face”, showing work carried out by the beneficiaries of CEDEMA – Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Handicapped Adults.

Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, a group of users of the Alcanena Social Welfare Centre.
Official opening of the Ronald McDonald Home
Mrs. Cavaco Silva officially opened the Ronald McDonald Home, in Lisbon, named “a home from home”, promoted by the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation, during which the First Lady addressed a speech.
Meeting in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted, in the Palace of Belém, a Meeting with a group of Mothers of Children who are Different – children, youths and adults suffering from rare diseases and deep insufficiencies.
2008 Magic Glow Worm Campaign
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the opening ceremony of the 2008 Magic Glow Worm Campaign, organized by the National Federation of Social Solidarity Cooperative Societies – FENACERCI, which was held in Restelo Stadium Press Room, in Lisbon.
With children under the care of the “Help the Crib” Home
Continuing the separate programme of the State Visit to Portugal of the Kings of Sweden, Queen Silvia, together with Mrs. Cavaco Silva, visited the “Help the Crib” Home, in Lisbon, where they foregathered with the children under care and the officers of the institution.
Audience granted in the Palace of Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, the President of the Association for the Promotion of Teaching to the Blind, Dr. Maria Antónia Oliveira Martins de Mesquita.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, the National Association of Mental and Rare Handicapped Persons - “Raríssimas”- who provided information on the “Casa dos Marcos” Project.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva officially opened the Exhibition of Paintings by António Cavaco Silva and Maria Inácio and also presided at the Dinner & Concert for fund gathering in favour of the Social and Community centre of Vale de Silves, in Boliqueime.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva, accompanied by the wife of the Mozambican President Armando Guebuza, visited the Mavalane Mothers Day Centre and the “Solidariedade” Secondary School, and donated several gifts to these institutions dedicated to the aid of disadvantaged children and teenagers.
