Project presented in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in the Palace of Belém, the individuals responsible for the project “A home for Little John”, from São João Hospital, in Porto, who, accompanied by “Little John”, mad a presentation of the initiative.
Conference in Setúbal
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided, in the Charlot Municipal Auditorium, in Setúbal, at the Opening Ceremony of the Portuguese Caritas National Conference, under the heading “Combating Poverty and Exclusion through Paths of Social Innovation”, during which she addressed a speech.
Visit to Humanus
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited, in Lisbon the Humanus – Humanities Association.
Delivery of donations
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited, in Figueira da Foz, the Cova Gala Social Centre where she attended the delivery of the proceeds from the sale of admission tickets and catalogues of the Exhibition “The Nativity Scene - Maria Cavaco Silva Collection”, to the referred institution.
LIGA Foundation
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the headquarters of LPDM – Social Resources Centre, the Christmas Party of the LIGA Foundation, IPSS (Private Institution for Social Solidarity), which promotes the social inclusion of physically handicapped people or those affected by chronic diseases and their families.
Christmas Party
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in Lisbon, at the invitation of the Institute of the Deaf of the Immaculate Conception, this Institution’s Christmas Party.
Christmas in Alcoitão
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the 65th edition this year of Christmas in Hospitals, watching the performance held in the Alcoitão Medical and Rehabilitation Centre.
Opening of Fair
Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided at the inaugural act of the “El Rastrillo” annual Solidarity Fair, promoted by the New Future Association, which provides support to welcoming homes for children and young people.
Social responsibility project
Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in Dona Estefânia Hospital, in Lisbon, the presentation of the Social Responsibility Project in the Health area “Mission of Smiles 2009”, the objective of which is to support hospitals and paediatric units through the offer of medico-scientific and entertainment-learning equipment.
Audience in Belém
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, the director of Tempus International, Solomon Kolinsky, who presented the Project of Social Responsibility Swatch/Portuguese Council for Refugees, which aims to install a Welcoming Centre for Young Refugees.
