Delegates to the International Doctoral Program
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received today, and accompanied in a visit to Belém, a group of delegates to the International Doctoral Program - Summer School in Culture.

Mrs. Cavaco Silva received today, in the Palace of Belém, Mrs. Ban Soon-taek, wife of the Secretary General of the United Nations.
Awarding prizes
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva presided at the opening ceremony of the Multidiscipline Conference on Pain, during which she awarded the prizes of the children’s drawing competition “I will draw my pain”, and the “2006 Grunenthal Pain Prizes” to two researchers, Prof. Isaura Tavares and Dr. Laurinda Lemos, during which she delivered a speech.
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva was present today, in the Porto City Council Hall, at the launching ceremony of the Municipal Support Services for Voluntary Work, during which she delivered a speech.

Ceremony in the Ismaili Centre
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in Lisbon, the official ceremony of the incorporation of the S. João de Deus Foundation.
Temporary exhibition in Setúbal
Included in the programme of the Commemorations of the National Day of Portugal, of Camões and of the Portuguese Communities, Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva visited the temporary exhibition "Forms and Textures – Hidden treasures of the Setúbal Museum – Convent of Jesus", together with the partners of the personages and ambassadors accredited in Portugal who were present in the 10 June ceremonies.

Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in Lisbon, the launching of the CD of the Campaign for "Caso dos Marcos" (Mark’s House), of the National Association of Mentally Handicapped and Rare "Raríssimas".
Presentation of the Programme in the Alcântara Harbour Building
Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva attended, in the Alcântara Harbour Building, in Lisbon, the presentation of the social welfare programme “Swatch Perfect World”, that assigns a sum for the refurbishment of a Temporary Welcome Centre for children at risk, known as “Open Sky”.

On the occasion of the State visit of the President of the Republic of Lithuania to Portugal, his wife, Madam Alma Adamkiene, visited Cabo da Roca and lunched with Mrs. Maria Cavaco Silva in a restaurant overlooking Guincho Beach.
