Included in the programme of the President of the Republic’s visit to the Madeira Autonomous Region, Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Funchal Botanical Gardens.
Deputation of Parish Council with First Lady
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, a deputation from S. Bartolomeu de Messines Parish Council, represented by its President, José Vitor das Neves Lourenço.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, the National Association of Mental and Rare Handicapped Persons - “Raríssimas”- who provided information on the “Casa dos Marcos” Project.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva officially opened the Exhibition of Paintings by António Cavaco Silva and Maria Inácio and also presided at the Dinner & Concert for fund gathering in favour of the Social and Community centre of Vale de Silves, in Boliqueime.
Exhibition in the Gulbenkian Galleries
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the exhibition on “Greek Taste”, on view in the Temporary Exhibition Galleries, in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, in the Palace of Belém, the Association of the Former Students of the Odivelas Institute.
Included in the programme of the President of the Republic’s State Visit to Mozambique, Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Josina Machel Secondary School, in Maputo, where she was a teacher in the Sixties.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva, accompanied by the wife of the Mozambican President Armando Guebuza, visited the Mavalane Mothers Day Centre and the “Solidariedade” Secondary School, and donated several gifts to these institutions dedicated to the aid of disadvantaged children and teenagers.
Association Officers
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received, in audience, in the Palace of Belém, the Officers of the New Special Olympics Association – Special Olympics Portugal, who informed the First Lady of their decision to award her the title of “Special Olympics Personality 2007”.
Mrs. Cavaco Silva received in audience, today, in the Palace of Belém, the head of the organizing committee of Solidarity in Portugal Golf Cup tournament, Mário Carvalhosa.
