Exhibitions in the Monastery of Alcobaça

Exhibitions patent to the public celebrating 650 years of the Transfer of the Remains of Dona Inês de Castro from Santa Clara to Alcobaça

On the occasion of the Commemoration of the 650 years of the Transfer of the Remains of Dona Inês de Castro from the Monastery of Santa Clara in Coimbra to the Monastery of Alcobaça, Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the temporary exhibitions allusive to the life of Dona Inês de Castro, on show in the Monastery’s Gallery.

The exhibited shows comprise “Inês Queen – Bibliographic and Ethnographic Exhibition”, “Reliquaries of Inês de Castro – painting and design by Nélia Caixinha”, and “7 Vestments for Inês, 7 Vestments for Pedro” – an exhibition comprised in the Dom Pedro and Dona Inês Fashion Contest.
