Father Alegre Cottolengo
Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Home of the Serving Sisters of Jesus of the Father Alegre Cottolengo, together with her granddaughter Mariana.
The Cottolengo is a Family Home whose wish is to live totally in the service of Divine Providence. It shelters the poor sick that suffer from chronic diseases and cannot be attended to in other centres or hospitals. In the Cottolengo they are received in an homely environment, both spiritually and physically.
The Sisters endeavour to provide individual assistance, in accordance to each one’s needs, whether sanitary, occupational therapy, cultural and religious training, as well as the recreational component.
In the Cottolengo, the Sisters live from donations, and do not have secure sustenance or even petition for material aid for the Home.
