Laying of the corner stone for the Welcome Shelter

Temporary Welcome Shelter for Refugee Children

Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided, in the Pombeiro Estate, Bela Vista Park, in Lisbon, at the corner stone laying ceremony for the Temporary Welcome Shelter for Refugee Children, where she delivered an address to the gathering.

Since it is the first and only Portuguese temporary welcome shelter for refugee children, the project had the high sponsorship of Mrs. Cavaco Silva.

The project which is being developed by the Portuguese Committee for Refugees in a partnership with the Lisbon City Council, Swatch Tempus International and the Alien and Border Department (SEF), involves the refurbishment of degraded municipal facilities by setting up a home with specific and adequate conditions to house refugees with ages up to 18 years.
