Prizes awarded in Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital, in Lisbon

Prize award ceremony for the 2009 Mission of Smiles

Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended in the Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital, in Lisbon, the prize award ceremony for the “2009 Mission of Smiles”.

The Social Responsibility project in the area of Health, which supports paediatric hospitals and paediatric units through the free supply of medical-scientific and leisure-educational equipment, awarded prizes to eleven hospitals: Garcia de Orta Hospital, in Almada; Infante D. Pedro Hospital, in Aveiro; Coimbra Paediatric Hospital and Bissaya Barreto Maternity Hospital, also in Coimbra; Faro Hospital; D. Estefânia Hospital and Dr. Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital, in Lisbon; Pedro Hispano Hospital, in Matosinhos; Portimão Hospital Centre, in the Algarve; S. João Hospital, in Porto; and Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro Hospital Centre, Vila Real Unit.

After the prize award ceremony, Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Pre-birth Intensive Care Unit, where the equipment purchased with the amounts received from the “2009 Mission of Smiles” will be installed.
