“The Nativity Scene” Exhibition

Exhibition “The Nativity Scene - Maria Cavaco Silva’s Collection” on show to the public in Figueira da Foz

Mrs. Cavaco Silva presided at the inaugural act, in Sotto Mayor Palace, in Figueira da Foz, of the Exhibition “The Nativity Scene” which will be open to the public until 10 January 2010.

Organized by the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic and by the Figueira Casino, the exhibition presents more than 150 national and international pieces from Maria Cavaco Silva’s personal collection.

Amongst the pieces on view, there are works of contemporary artists such as Júlio Resende and Siza Vieira, as well as recognized artisans of nativity scenes, such as Júlia Ramalho, Baraça and the Ginja Brothers, and others with a symbolic value, which show the social and cultural activities of several social solidarity institutions, which enjoy the support of Mrs. Cavaco Silva.
