Meeting in the Palace of Belém

Meeting of ladies responsible for child and youth care service institutions

Mrs. Cavaco Silva organized, in the Palace of Belém, a meeting of ladies from all over the Country, who are responsible for institutions providing refuge and care for children and youths in risk or abandonment situations, who have been deprived of a family environment or of the enjoyment of their basic rights.

Participants represented institutions responsible for more than a thousand children and youths. The meeting arrived at a decision to establish a network for the sharing of information amongst the various bodies concerned.
