Visit to the Basilica

Visit to the Basilica

The President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended mass in the Goa Basilica
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended a mass held in Portuguese at the Bom Jesus Basilica, in Velha Goa (old city), with a choir composed by Goanese and Portuguese artists.

This Basilica contains the tomb of St. Francis Xavier, which the Presidential couple visited, as well as an exhibition, held in an adjoining building, alluding to that same Portuguese missionary in Oriental lands.
