The President of the Republic addressed today a memorandum f«to the President of the Constitutional Court requesting that this Court pronounce itself on the constitutionality and legality of the proposal for a referendum on the possibility of co-adoption by the same gender spouse or effective partner and on the possibility of adoption by same gender couples, married or effective partners, approved by Parliamentary Resolution no. 6-A/2014, published in the Supplement of Series I of the Official Gazette dated 20 January 2014.
The President of the Republic will appoint General Artur Neves Pina Monteiro as Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff.
Following a Government proposal, the President of the Republic extended, with effect as from 23 February 2014, the term of office of the Air Force Chief of General Staff, by General José António de Magalhães Araújo Pinheiro.
