The President of the Republic addressed a message to King D. Juan Carlos of Spain who announced his decision to abdicate from the throne.

The President received, in audience, the National Soccer Football Team before their departure to compete in the Final Stage of the World Championship, Brazil 2014, and later hosted the retinue at luncheon.
Presentation of letters credential
The President of the Republic received letters credentials from new Ambassadors in Portugal.
Bill Clinton received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the former American President Bill Clinton.
The President of the United States of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, and his Wife, Mrs. Angélica Rivera, will journey to Portugal, on a State Visit to take place on 5 and 6 June next, at the invitation of President Cavaco Silva.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Governing Officers of the Portuguese Entrepreneurial Confederation (CIP).
Rebeca Grynspan received by the President
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Secretary General of Iberian American Conference, Rebeca Grynspan.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Organizing Committee for the Celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, which will be held this year in the city of Guarda.
