The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of the former Speaker of Parliament, Dr. António de Almeida Santos.

Production unit in Torres Vedras
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act, in Ramalho, Torres Vedras, of the new facilities of TOMIX, a manufacturer of agricultural and industrial equipment.
Ambassador Isabel Pedrosa
The President of the Republic received, in audience, Ambassador Ms. Isabel Pedrosa, to hand her letters credential as Portugal’s diplomatic representative in Tripoli, Libya.
New Year Greetings
The President of the Republic received New Year Greetings from the Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces, whom he later hosted at luncheon.
Concert in Ajuda Palace
The President of the Republic hosted dinner, in the Palace of Ajuda, to the members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Portugal, on the occasion of the presentation of New Year Greetings.
The President of the Republic received, in the Queluz National Palace, New Year Greetings from the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Portugal, having then addressed a speech.
Ceremony in Belém
The President of the Republic empowered the new members of the Council of State in a ceremony held in the Palace of Belém.
Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic decorated, with the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Christ, the Head of the Civil Staff, Dr. José Manuel Nunes Liberato, the Head of the Military Staff, Lieutenant General Carlos Carvalho dos Reis, and the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Arnaldo Pereira Coutinho.
Delivery of letters credential
The President of the Republic received letters credential from new Ambassadors in Portugal.
Subscribing the act of deposition
The President of the Republic received, in audience, Dr. Francisco Nunes de Matos de Sá Carneiro, to whom he handed the diploma relative to the decoration awarded posthumously, in 1986, to the former Prime Minister Francisco Sá Carneiro, of the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Torre e Espada, of Valour, Loyalty and Merit.
