The President of the Republic received letters credential from the new Ambassadors in Portugal.
School Commemorations
The President of the Republic took part in the Commemorative Ceremony of the 60th Anniversary of the S. João de Brito School, in Lisbon, and visited the exhibition alluding to the event.
Academy of Sciences
The President of the Republic attended the opening ceremony commemorating the 400th year of the birth of Father António Vieira, held in the Academy of Sciences, during which he delivered a speech.
Upon receiving the information that the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts had attributed the Goya Prize for the Best Original Song to “Fado da Saudade”, I want to compliment you for this distinction that so greatly honours Portuguese music.
Mister President

Solidarity tournament
The President of the Republic attended, in Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, in Vila Nova de Cacela, the tee-off of the Solidarity in Portugal Golf Cup tournament. The funds collected will revert in favour of the Portuguese Association of Support to Women with Breast Cancer (APAMCM).
Statue unveiled in Cascais
The President of the Republic delivered a speech during the inaugural ceremony of a statue of King D. Carlos of Portugal, to whom the Cascais Municipality paid homage on this day.
Cerimony of investiture
The President of the Republic invested in office, in the Palace of Belém, the new Secretaries of State for Fiscal Matters, for Civil Defence, for Internal Administration, for Rural Development and Forestry, Assistant and for Health, for Health and, also, for Culture.
In the terms of item h) of article 133 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic accepted the proposal put forward by the Prime Minister to appoint the following personalities as Secretaries of State for:

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Organizing Committee of the Lisbon International Half Marathon, Commander Carlos Moia.
