“Café Portugal”
The President of the Republic officially opened a Portuguese Contemporary Art Exhibition, which was named “Café Portugal”, which will remain open to the public in the Design Factory.
Audience with the leader of the Opposition
The President of the Republic received the leader of the main Opposition Party – SDKU – Slovakian Christian Democratic Union, Mikulas Dzurinda.
Meeting with Robert Fico
The President of the Republic was received by the Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico, who hosted luncheon in honour of Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
Economic Seminar
President Cavaco Silva and the President of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Gasparovic, took part in the Economic Seminar with the theme “Economic Relations Portugal-Slovak Republic”, which was attended by entrepreneurs of both countries.
Visiting Bratislava
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva toured the Historical Centre of Bratislava, walking round the better known squares of the Slovakian capital. The Cavaco Silva couple equally had the opportunity to view the River Danube, which runs through Bratislava.
Audience with Pavol Paska
On the second day of his State Visit to the Slovak Republic, the President of the Republic was received by the Speaker of the Slovakian Parliament, Pavol Paska.
Banquet in the Presidential Palace
The President of the Slovak Republic and Mrs. Ivan Gasparovic hosted a banquet in honour of the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, included in the programme of the State Visit which is taking place in Bratislava.
Meeting with President Gasparovic
At the beginning of his State Visit to the Slovak Republic, the President of the Republic was received in an official welcoming ceremony held in Presidential Palace of Bratislava, after which he met with his Slovakian counterpart, Ivan Gasparovic.
Arrival in Bratislava
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva arrived in Bratislava to initiate a two day State Visit to the Slovak Republic, at the invitation of the Slovakian President, Ivan Gasparovic.
Meeting with the Cardinal Archbishop of Krakow
During their stay in Krakow, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Mariacki Church, guided by Father Broiled Fidelus.
