In the final part of the second day of the State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic attended a dinner for the promotion of Portugal, which included a multimedia presentation of the country, with special incidence in the tourism and energy areas.
Portuguese architecture on show
The President of the Republic officially opened, in Berlin, an exhibition of Portuguese contemporary architecture with the theme "Portugal outside Portugal", which shows architectural projects carried out in different countries in several continents.
Initiative in a Berlin shopping centre
During his State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic took the opportunity to officially open a Promotional Campaign for Portugal which is being held in a large shopping Centre in Berlin, built and managed by a Portuguese entrepreneurial group of companies.
Entrepreneurs in Germany
The President of the Republic attended, in Berlin, the “Entrepreneurial Meeting Portugal-Germany: Investment and Cooperation", held within the scope of his State Visit, and took the opportunity to address a speech to the meeting.
Visit to the Bundestag dome
At the beginning of the second day of his State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic held a meeting with Norbert Lammert, the President of the Bundestag.
Presidential toasts
At the end of the first day of the State Visit of the President of the Republic to Germany, the German President, Horst Köhler, and his wife hosted a banquet in honour of the Portuguese President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, in Bellevue Palace.
Meeting with Chancellor
Included in programme of his State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic held a meeting, in Berlin, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended the opening, in Berlin, of a retrospective exhibition of the work of film maker Manoel de Oliveira, which is on show at the Academy of Arts.
Symbolic crossing of the Brandenburg Gate
The President of the Republic was received in the Berlin City Council by the City’s Burgomaster, Klaus Wowereit, who bade him welcome and hosted a reception.
Tribute paid in the German capital
Continuing the programme of his State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic paid tribute, in Berlin, to the victims of war and tyranny, laying a wreath of flowers on the respective Memorial.
