At the end of his State Visit to the German Federal Republic, the President of the Republic met with Portuguese journalist to whom he provided important information on the contacts made in that Country.
Talk on Europe with Hans-Gert Pöttering
The President of the Republic took part, in an Osnabrück secondary school, together with the President of the European Parliament, the German national Hans-Gert Pöttering, in a lecture on the future of Europe, which was followed by answers to students’ questions.

Following is the text of the President’s message:
On 9 March next the President of the Republic completes three years of his mandate. To observe the date the President decided to carry out a further campaign of the Route to Inclusion, the fifth, dedicated to Unemployment and New Risks of Poverty, which will be held in the counties of Barcelos, Braga and Porto.

The President of the Republic was received in the headquarters of Siemens AG, in Munich, and held a meeting with the company’s Chairman, Peter Löscher, in which were also present the Deputy Chairman of Siemens One, the Portuguese national Pedro Pires de Miranda, and the Chairman of Siemens Portugal, Carlos Melo Ribeiro.
Flexible Electronics Laboratory
The President of the Republic visited, in Munich, the headquarters of the Fraunhofer Institute of applied technology, which will shortly open, in Porto, its first centre outside Europe. The visit includes the Institute’s laboratory of flexible electronics.

Continuing his State Visit to Germany, the President of the Republic held a meeting, in Munich, with the Minister-President of the State of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, who later hosted a luncheon in his official residence.
