Transgranitos has new head offices
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act, in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, of the new head offices of the Transgranitos company, and visited its research and development centre.
New building for the Municipal Assembly
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act of the new building of the Vila Pouca de Aguiar County Hall, resulting from the refurbishment of the Silva Manor, and which will house the Municipal Assembly.
Visit to Penafiel
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act of the Penafiel Municipal Museum, which he then visited, addressing a brief speech in an open air ceremony, after having unveiled a plaque alluding to the event in the interior of the building.
Astronomy on view
The President of the Republic visited the Constância Live Science Centre, viewed the Astronomy Park and opened the largest public telescope in use in Portugal.
Jorge Santos received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Deputy Speaker of the Cape Verde Parliament and President of the Movement for Democracy, Engº Jorge Santos.
President receives Qualifica
The President of the Republic received, in audience, a deputation from Qualifica – National Association of Municipalities and Producers for the Valuation and Qualification of Traditional Portuguese Products.
The President of the Republic, after hearing the views of the Government and of the political parties represented in Parliament, set the date for the elections to the European Parliament on 7 June 2009.
The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, a deputation from the authors of the book “Crisis – The causes of the economic and financial crisis. Solutions for the Future of Portugal and the World”, the copyright of which reverts in favour of the Food Bank against Hunger.
