Exhibition in Serralves
The President of the Republic officially opened, in the Museum of the Serralves Foundation, in Porto, the Exhibition SERRALVES 2009 – THE COLLECTION, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of that Institution.
Inaugural Ceremony
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act, in the campus of the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University, of the new Building of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management – INEGI.
Visit to Aveiro
After having been welcome by a Guard of Honour of two of the Council’s Fire Brigades, President Cavaco Silva presided, in Aveiro City Hall, at the Commemorative Ceremony of the 250th Anniversary of its having been granted a city charter. The President addressed a speech on the occasion.
The President of the Republic was distinguished with the 2009 Mediterraneo Istituzioni Prize, awarded by the Mediterranean Foundation, headquartered in Italy.

Anniversary of the Lisbon Zoo
The President of the Republic visited the Lisbon Zoo, on the occasion of its 125th anniversary and presided at the inaugural act of the statue of Félix Naharro Pires.
Award ceremony of the 2008 Secil Prize
The President of the Republic presided and addressed the audience at the award ceremony of the 2008 Secil Universities – Architecture and Civil Engineering, and 2008 Secil Architecture Prizes.
Audience in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, a deputation of the Officers of the Union of Portuguese Magistrates.

The President of the Republic visited the Portuguese History Academy, where he addressed a speech.
