Inaugural act of Mask statues
The President of the Republic visited the city of Bragança, where he presided at the inaugural acts of Avenue Cidade de León, of the King Afonso Henriques Foundation and of the Adriano Moreira Municipal Library, where he addressed a speech.
Recovery of the Convent of the Friars
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act, in Trancoso, of the new Municipal Theatre, installed in the ancient Convent of the Friars, which had meanwhile been refurbished.
Visit to the county of Poiares

Conclusions of the Naples Informal Meeting
On the second and last day of the Informal Meeting of Heads of State within the Arraiolos Process, which was held in Naples, the discussion covered “The Foreign Policy of the European Union, with special reference to the relations with the new United States Administration”.
Meetings of Head of State
The President of the Republic took part in the Annual Meeting of the Arraiolos Group, which commenced today in the Palazzo Reale, in Naples, and which includes the Heads of State of Portugal, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy.
Award of the 2009 Mediterraneo Prize
President Aníbal Cavaco Silva received the 2009 Mediterraneo Instituzioni Prize, awarded by the Mediterraneo Foundation, “in recognition for his endeavour and actions in the strengthening of solidarity and of an active cooperation between Mediterranean countries, on behalf of the promotion of Peace and development in that area”.
Presidential speech
In the Ceremonial Session Commemorative of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, which is being held in Santarém, the President of the Republic addressed a speech allusive to the event and awarded decorations to several individualities and institutions.
