President addresses the Portuguese
The President of the Republic addressed a message to the Portuguese concerning the Elections for Local Authorities to be held on 11 October.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to President Barack Obama, of the United States of America, for having been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
In the terms and for the purposes of §1 of article No. 187 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic will receive, on 8 and 9 October, deputations from the Ecological Party “The Greens”, from the Portuguese Communist Party, from the Left Wing Nucleus, from the Social Democrat Centre-Popular Party, from the Social Democrat Party and from the Socialist Party.

Chegada a Belém
To celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, the Palace of Belém was once again open to the public, receiving throughout the whole day more than 12,000 visitors who attended the several events.

Facing hundreds of visitors to the Palace of Belém, the President of the Republic addressed a speech allusive to the celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the Republic.
Great affluence to the Palace
Thousands of people have visited the Palace of Belém since the 1st of October, to view the performances included in the celebrations of the 5th anniversary of the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
