Project shown to the President
The President of the Republic visited, in the former headquarters of the Barracks of the 11th, in Setúbal, the future facilities of the Hotel and Tourism School, where he watched the presentation of the School’s project and of the investments included in the National Strategic Reference Framework for the county.
Bela Vista school students
The President of the Republic visited, in Setúbal, the Bela Vista Kindergarten and No. 1 Basic School, where he accompanied classes in activity, specifically the courses of alternative curricula and multi-deficiency, and watched the performances of a percussion group and “gypsy dancing”.

The President of the Republic arrived in Strasbourg by car, on his way from Prague to Lisbon, due to the closure of European air space for a number of days caused by the ash clouds originated by the eruption of a volcano in Iceland.
Tribute to President Lech Kaczynski
In tribute to the Polish President Lech Kaczynski, killed in an air accident, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva held a two minute silence outside the hotel wher they had stayed during their State Visit to the Czech Republic.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to alpinist João Garcia who reached the summit of Annapurna today, becoming the first Portuguese to have conquered the fourteen highest mountains in the world.

Gathering with Portuguese
At the end of his State Visit to the Czech Republic, the President of the Republic met, in Prague National Museum, with Portuguese residents in that country, during a gathering with the presence of many of the Portuguese students taking their studies there.
Meeting with the Portuguese press
The President of the Republic held a meeting with the Portuguese journalists who accompanied his State Visit to the Czech Republic, with whom he commented on the conclusions and on the most relevant aspects of the contacts he had maintained with the country’s authorities.
Ceremony in Prague
Continuing the programme of his State Visit to the Czech Republic, the President of the Republic visited the Vítkov National Memorial, where he laid a wreath of flowers.
