Award of the COTEC Prize for Innovation
The President of the Republic presided at the Closing Session of the 7th COTEC National Innovation Encounter and to the Annual General Meeting of COTEC Portugal, held in the Estoril Conference Centre.
Audience in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, a group of French local authority officials of Portuguese ascendancy.
Trophy award
The President of the Republic attended, in Campo Grande Hippodrome, in Lisbon, the Finals of the Lisbon Official International Show Jumping Competition and the Equestrian Nations Cup, on the occasion of the centenary of the Portuguese Equestrian Society.
The President of the Republic addressed a congratulatory message to Sporting Clube de Portugal for having won the Challenge Cup in Handball.

Visit to the production area
The President of the Republic presided at the inaugural act, in S. Martinho do Bispo, Coimbra, of the new manufacturing unit of the Bluepharma pharmaceutical company, and visited the Production and Research & Development areas.
Coimbra University Hospitals
Concluding a programme dedicated to the large transplant units in Portugal, the President of the Republic visited, in the Coimbra University Hospitals, the Histocompatibility and Heart and Chest Surgery Centres.
IPO Transplant Centre
The President of the Republic visited the Medulla Transplant Unit of the Portuguese Institute of Oncology (IPO) in Lisbon, viewed the clinical departments where he spoke to the professionals on duty, following this with a visit to the Paediatric Daily Hospital.
Ward of transplant patients
Included in the programme of a visit to three units with great activity, technical relevance and pioneering in transplants in Portugal, the President of the Republic visited, in Lisbon, the Liver-Bile-Pancreas Transplant Centre (CH-B-PT) of Curry Cabral Hospital.
Film viewed in the Cinema Library
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva attended, in the Cinema Museum of the Portuguese Film Library, in Lisbon, the performance of the film “The Pianist”, by Roman Polanski, included in the cinema cycle “The President’s Films”.
Vergílio Folhadela received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Agency for the Development of Creative Industries, Eng. Vergílio Folhadela.
