Closing session in Queluz
Five individualities who distinguished themselves whilst innovators, throughout their lives and in the exercise of their activities, were decorated by the President of the Republic in the Palace of Queluz, where the 4th Campaign of the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities, carries out in the West Lisbon Metropolitan Area, was concluded.
Project 12-15
Within the scope of the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities, the President of the Republic met with the Directors of the Sintra Schools’ Groupings and visited two intercultural schools and an entrepreneurial project in Amadora.
At the beginning of the second day of the 4th Campaign of the Innovatory Local Communities, dedicated to the West Lisbon Metropolitan Area, the President of the Republic visited the Social Suburb Quarters of Outurela-Portela, in the county of Oeiras.
On the occasion of the 4th Campaign of the Route to Innovatory Local Communities, the President of the Republic will decorate, as recognition of their merit, several individualities who distinguished themselves throughout their lives and in the exercise of their activities.
Signature of Book of Honour
The President of the Republic visited Mafra National Palace, especially the Basilica and the Library, where he signed the Book of Honour of Mafra’s Application to become included in the UNESCO World Heritage, which was presented by its promoters.
Continuing the 4th Campaign of the Innovatory Local Communities, the President of the Republic visited, in the Air Force Academy, in Sintra, the laboratory where the programme PITVAN – Project of Research and Technology on Unmanned Aircraft is being undertaken.
Chess apprentices
At the beginning of the 4th Campaign in the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities, the President of the Republic visited in Parede, county of Cascais, the 31 January School Association, where he met with individualities connected to the institution and with many of its students.
The President of the Republic addressed a congratulatory message to King Juan Carlos I of Spain, regarding the award to Spain of the 2010 Football World Cup.
Meeting in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, the President of the European Commission, Dr. José Manuel Durão Barroso, and members of the COTEC Global Business Forum 2010, whom he hosted for lunch.
Opening of Forum
The President of the Republic presided, in the Estoril Conference Centre, at the opening of the COTEC Global Business Forum 2010, during which he delivered an address.
