President in the Sernancelhe Exhibition Hall
The President of the Republic visited the county of Sernancelhe, signed the Book of Honour of the County Hall and presided at the inaugural act of the Exhibition Hall, during which a performance was held by the children of the local Musical Academy.
President receives the gold key to the city of Tarouca
The President of the Republic visited Tarouca, where he received, during an official ceremony held in the City Hall, the gold key to the city.
Inaugural act of a monument to firemen
At the beginning of a visit to several counties in the Douro region, the President of the Republic called first at Armamar, where he presided at the inaugural act of a monument paying tribute to the firemen who were killed in a fire in 1985.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of José Torres.

Councillor Pinto Monteiro received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Attorney General, Councillor Fernando Pinto Monteiro.
Diogo Feio received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, Euro MP Dr. Diogo Feio, who presented the report of the European Parliament on Economic Governance, of which he is the author.
Visit to the institution’s facilities
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva visited the Aboim Ascensão Children’s Shelter, in Faro.
Visit to Ourique
The President of the Republic visited Ourique County, where he was welcomed in the Sousa Telles Cine-Theatre by the Mayor and presented with the Key of Honour to the Village of Ourique.
The President of the Republic enacted the Parliamentary Bill that brings changes to the Law covering the Fulfilling of Penal Servitude and Measures to Prevent Freedom.
At the invitation of the President of the Republic, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Dukes of Luxemburg will hold a State Visit to Portugal, from 7 to 9 September 2010.
