Meeting in Argentina
During the XX Iberian American Summit, which is being held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, the President of the Republic met with his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is also attending the Summit meetings.
Opening ceremony
The President of the Republic attended, in Mar del Plata, Argentina, the Inaugural Act of the XX Iberian American Summit, and addressed a speech in the first formal session of the meeting.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the President of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference, Dom Jorge Ortiga.

The President of the Republic empowered the Chief of the Naval General Staff, Vice-Admiral José Carlos Torrado Saldanha Lopes.

Lunch with EPIS entrepreneurs
The President of the Republic attended, in Lisbon, the luncheon of the Association of Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion (EPIS), during which a presentation was made of the action plan for 2010-2012, and the diplomas given to the Mayors and representatives of local companies that took part in the implementation of the pilot project “Network of brokers for success at school”.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Chief of the Naval General Staff, Admiral Fernando Melo Gomes.
Banquet in the Palace of Ajuda
On the occasion of the State Visit to Portugal of the Grand Master of the Sovereign and Military Order of Malta, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a banquet in his honour in the National Palace of Ajuda, at the beginning of which both President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and Grand Master Fra’ Matthew Festing delivered addresses.
The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to Media Capital and to TVI for the first Emmy awarded to a Portuguese soap opera.
