The President of the Republic addressed a message to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the events that took place on 11 September 2001.

Prize awarded to the African Programme for the Control of Onchorcersiasis
The President of the Republic presided, at the headquarters of the Champalimaud Foundation, at the award ceremony of the 2011 António Champalimaud Vision Prize, attributed to the African Programme for the Control of Onchorcersiasis (APOC), which was received by the Director of the Institution, Dr. Paul Samson Lusamba Dikassa, where he delivered an address.
Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic decorated, with the degree of Commander of the Military Order of Aviz, Lieutenant Colonel Sérgio Augusto Valente Marques, who is relinquishing his duties as Presidential Military Assessor for the Army and will assume the duty of Military Consultant in the Portuguese Delegation to NATO (DELNATO).
The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Dr. José Gonçalves Sapinho.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, the former President of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Sub-20 Team decorated
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the members of the Sub-20 Male National Football Team, who gained the title of vice champions of the World in the recent competition that took place in Colombia, and who he decorated with several degrees of the Orders of the Prince Henry the Navigator and of Merit.
Audience in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, Ambassador António Luis Cotrim, to hand him the letters credential as diplomatic representative of Portugal in Addis Ababa.
