Ceremony in the Palace of Queluz
The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Queluz, New Year Greetings from the members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Portugal. President Cavaco Silva delivered an address during the ceremony.

The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, the Vila Verde Musical Band, the Vocalist Group of the JuveNorte Sports and Culture Centre, from Póvoa de Varzim, and the Boliqueime (Loulé) “Janeiras” (Christmas Carols) Singers, who sang the traditional January carols.
