The President of the Republic sent a message of congratulations to the Beach Soccer National Team who was crowned World Cup Champion in the Match held in Espinho.
Following is the text of the message from President Cavaco Silva:
“Upon being advised that Portugal has become world champion of Beach Soccer in the FIFA 2015 Beach Soccer World Cup, held in Espinho, I congratulate all the members of the National Team which, showing great sportsmanship, represented the Country in this match.
They are to be congratulated by their excellent participation in this Tournament, which gained the enthusiasm and pride of this sport’s fans, but also of the Portuguese in general.
In a competition that demonstrated the excellent conditions Portugal has to hold such world level sports activities, the members of the Beach Soccer National Team evinced their excellent qualities to take part in this sport’s events.
I equally congratulate the technical team that backs up these players and the officers of the Portuguese Football Federation, wishing them all the best personal wellbeing and success in sports activities.
