Arrival at Republic Square
The President of the Republic travelled to the county town of São João da Pesqueira, where he visited the historical centre in Republic Square, viewing the external and internal areas of the Almshouse Church as well as the architectural environment of the Square.
Later, President Cavaco Silva made a prolonged visit to the Wine Museum, from the traditional grape crushing area to the modern informative interactive panels.
Lastly, during a commemorative session of the visit to the County, held in the Museum, the President delivered a speech.
