Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic paid tribute to several individualities connected with Viniculture, in a ceremony held in Porto, in the Institute of Douro and Port Wines.
During the ceremony decorations in the various grades of the Order of Entrepreneurial Merit – Agricultural Merit Class, were awarded to the following individualities: Paul Symington (Symington Family Estates, Douro), with the grade of Grand Officer; Álvaro Castro (Quinta da Pellada, Dão), Anselmo Mendes (Alvarinho, Minho), Dirk Niepoort (Niepoort, Douro), and Jorge Dias (Gran Cruz Porto, Douro), with the grade of Commander; and Olga Martins (Lavradores da Feitoria, Douro) and Sandra Tavares da Silva (Quinta do Vale D. Maria, Douro), with the grade of Officer.
On the occasion, President Cavaco Silva addressed a speech.
