Presentation in the Technical Department
The President of the Republic visited the Hydrographic Institute, in Lisbon, where he was briefed upon its research and development capabilities over marine sciences.
After attending a presentation of the institute’s activities, President Cavaco Silva visited the Navigation, Oceanography and Hydrographical Departments and the Chemical and Pollution Laboratories of Marine Environment and Sedimentation.
During the visit, the use was highlighted of the synergies between the Institute’s contribution for the Navy’s operational product and the technical and scientific capacities with which it collaborates in the country’s service.
