Encounter in Guarda
The President of the Republic met, in Guarda, individualities which became distinguished, in Portugal and abroad, within their areas of activity.
In an encounter that was held in the former Episcopal Palace, President Cavaco Silva had the opportunity to contact enterprising individuals, researchers, sportsmen, entrepreneurs, officers of associations, especially young people, and other professionals in the most diverse fields, and delivered an address.
The encounter was followed by luncheon, as usually held in the celebrations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, after which the President opened the exhibition “Inroads: Portuguese Contemporary Art – António Piné Collection”, promoted by the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.
