The President of the Republic of Singapore, Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, and his Wife, Mrs. Mary Tan, will carry out a State Visit to Portugal between 4 and 6 May next, at the invitation of President Cavaco Silva.
The official programme of the visit begins on 5 May, with the laying of a wreath by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on the tomb of Luís Vaz de Camões, in the Jerónimos Monastery.
The President of the Republic of Singapore and his Wife will be received in the Palace of Belém by President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva, followed by a working meting between the two Heads of State. At the end of the same day, a State Dinner will be held in the Palace of Ajuda, in honour of the President of the Republic of Singapore and his Wife.
The President of Singapore will also be received in the House of Parliament by the Speaker and, in the Palace of S. Bento by the Prime Minister, who will host a luncheon in his honour.
In his visit to Portugal, President of the Republic of Singapore will be accompanied by his official retinue and by an entrepreneurial delegation.
